How to remove ink or marker stains
Solvent-led. Test first — ink treatments can lift dye from coloured fabric.
Method
- 1
Back with cloth
Place a clean white cloth underneath so released ink transfers into it.
- 2
Dab solvent
Dab (do not rub) with isopropyl alcohol or an alcohol-based remover, moving to a clean part of the cloth each time.
- 3
Detergent
Wash the treated area with detergent to remove solvent residue.
- 4
Wash
Launder per the care label and air dry.
What makes it worse
- Do not rub — it spreads the ink
- Do not skip the patch test on dyed fabric
